To celebrate Patricia Forde’s appointment as Laureate na nÓg, Children’s Books Ireland wanted to document her journey along Ireland’s west coast inspiring children to embrace creativity & storytelling. We produced Making It Up As We Go Along, a visually rich & engaging documentary that captures Patricia’s passion, the power of imagination and the transformative impact of stories on young minds.

Documenting the Laureate na nÓg experience
Children's Books Ireland, a champion of young readers and writers, wanted to document Laureate na nÓg Patricia Forde's journey as she traveled the west coast of Ireland, inspiring children to embrace the joy of storytelling.

We developed a narrative structure that seamlessly blended live interactions, behind-the-scenes moments, and cinematic visuals, ensuring the film felt as dynamic and imaginative as the stories being told.
The complete media production process
From pre-production to final edit, we managed every aspect of the documentary, filming Patricia as she met children in schools, libraries, and remote locations, encouraging them to create their own stories. We wove together interviews, real-time storytelling sessions, and atmospheric footage of Ireland’s breathtaking landscapes to create a visually stunning and emotionally resonant film.
