The thing about working in the digital creative industry is that as soon as the work is finished and the client is happy (very important) we look immediately towards the next project, the next creative challenge. The 100 Archive is a wonderful initiative that encourages creatives in branding and graphic design to pause and look back at the work that has been created by Irish industry and to celebrate the beautiful design, visuals and branding.

We are honoured that four Piquant projects are in the 100 Archive 2024 selection. This is testament to the creativity of our amazing design team, and to the trust that our clients place in us, enabling us to stretch our creative muscles with confidence.

Creative Places | Uniting West Cork’s islands through a vibrant arts brand

Our team embraced the challenge of developing a brand for the West Cork Islands that fosters cultural expression and community participation. By connecting islanders through their shared heritage and innovative design, we created a dynamic brand system that engages all seven inhabited islands. Our creative brand system integrates local traditions and modern design, encouraging islanders to shape their identity actively. This multi-channel approach has enhanced access to arts programming, celebrating the unique culture of the West Cork Islands and uniting their communities.

IHREC | Digital-first brand system for Ireland’s national human rights institution

To combat brand drift and foster a clear, unified identity, we partnered with the Irish Human Rights and Equality Commission to transform their digital communications, enhancing accessibility, simplifying their brand system, and ensuring a cohesive identity across platforms. We developed a cohesive brand system that repositions IHREC as a digital-first entity. The resulting system is adaptable, distinct, and meets high accessibility standards.

Carambola | Brand and marketing for Ireland’s leading school-meal specialist

Carambola, a leading provider of healthy school meals wanted to stand out as the provider of choice for schools across Ireland. Piquant successfully rebranded Carambola, launched a new website and activated the brand across marketing materials, signage and events, improving engagement and awareness. Focusing on engaging, youth-friendly design and consistent brand activation through website, events, and vehicle signage, we helped Carambola strengthen their connection with schools, children, and parents.

Also recognised in the 100 Archive was the GradX—TU Dublin Graduate Showcase Identity. Junior Designer at Piquant Bianca Espina worked on this creative project while still in college. The identity takes a dynamic typographic approach, bringing dispersed letterforms together to form words and meaning, reflecting the varied perspectives and disciplines of this year’s graduates. Since starting at Piquant Bianca has brought the creative energy and design skills she displayed in the creation of this identity to a range of projects for our clients.
