In the lead up to the data collection and publication of a School Climate Survey, which documented the experiences of LGBTI+ secondary students between the ages of 13 and 20, we were tasked with the development of an awareness campaign and the design of the final publication. This report has been the largest research sample of LGBTI+ young people in schools in Ireland ever. Our aim was to create a distinctive campaign that would raise levels of participation among students and have an impactful and easily identifiable visual identity for the release of the report.
What we did:
- Brand Development
- Graphic Design
- Motion Design
- Editorial Design
IDENTITY DESIGN — We began by developing a visual system, to be used throughout the campaign, that would compliment the Belong To brand but could also stand out on print and digital media. This included typography, a rainbow colour system, illustrations, and animations that could stand out from the cluttered environment of a social media feed.
EDITORIAL DESIGN — After the promotional campaign completed its cycle and the data was analysed we set to structure this content in a legible and easily digestible publication. We applied the campaign type, colours, and illustrations to create a visual link between the report and the proceeding campaign. The implementation of illustrations allowed us to visually communicate complex findings in a simple and immediate manner.
