Engage in Education provides support to encourage young people to reach their academic potential. They run three programme levels: Nurture, Compass, and Engage, working with students, parents and schools in the Limerick communities of Southill, Ballinacurra Weston, St Mary’s Park and Moyross. Piquant was commissioned to produce a video that showcases the work of Engage in Education and the impact the programmes have on the education, careers and lives of the programme participants.
What we did:
- Concept Development
- Script Writing
- Camera Operation
- Video Editing
- Motion Graphics Design
CONCEPT DEVELOPMENT — The vision for this video was to showcase the important work Engage in Education do within Limerick communities. Combining testimonial interviews of programme participants, with b-roll demonstrating their participation and key impact facts delivered in the Engage in Education identity.
VIDEO PRODUCTION — A student from each programme was selected to be part of the video production. The interview recording acted as the mainstay of the video. Appropriate b-roll and video portraits were acquired to bring a visual representation to the answers shared from the video participants. Engage in Education is rooted in Limerick, and it was important to showcase communities within the city that this programme supports.

EDIT AND POST-PRODUCTION — Great care was taken in the edit stage of this project. We focused on allowing each video participant the same time on camera. Structuring the video around the pillars of the programme, the edit team focused on telling a rounded story about Engage in Education’s Nurture, Compass and Engage programmes. Motion graphics shared vital information and carried the brand elements across the video. The use of different soundtracks allowed for the video to parade the chapters student undertake within Engage in Education.
IMPACT — The video successfully showcases the value and impact of the Engage in Education programme in supporting students to achieve their full potential. The video is a helpful too for the Engage in Education programme to present to potential students, mentors, educational institutes and funders to generate support and resources to continue to deliver and expand the programme.
