Limerick and Clare Education and Training Board offer a free information, advice and guidance service for people who are considering Further Education and Training. Their team of Information Officers and Guidance Counsellors support learners to make informed choices on their education, training, career, and employment opportunities. We worked with LCETB to create an animated video that promoted the guidance counsellor service in the Limerick and Clare area.
What we did:
- Concept Development
- Script Writing
- Storyboarding
- Illustration
- Animated Video Production
- Audio and Foley Production
- Voice Over Recording
CONCEPT DEVELOPMENT — We developed a concept that placed the learner at the centre of the story and showcased the relationship shared with the guidance counsellor. We adapted stories from four individuals to share their unique pathway. Animation allowed these characters to come to life with a brand informed colour space and a refined illustration style that could speak to the viewer of the video.

PRODUCTION — Creating a script that told the stories of these diverse individuals allowed us to understand the challenges people face, not knowing their pathway to a professional career. Once the script was in place we broke down the visual, audio, and actions for each scene, giving us a sense of how the animation would progress. Once the storyboards were completed, we developed style frames, where we explored the illustration and graphic treatment. For the audio, we directed four voice-over actors to connect to each character and deliver their journeys through the guidance counsellor process. We also developed music tracks and foley sounds for each animated video.

STORYTELLING — While developing this animated video, it was important to us to ensure that a narrative structure played a vital role in the video. Using four diverse characters from different age groups and backgrounds allowed the story to unfold with their voices. The characters share their journey through the guidance counsellor process, allowing the viewers to relate to their stories.
