Taking their name from the Irish word for ‘link’, Nasc work to link migrants and ethnic minorities to their rights through protecting human rights, promoting integration and campaigning for change. Nasc works for an inclusive society based on the principles of human rights, social justice and equality. We developed a complete brand system for Nasc, including logo design, brand development, photography production and iconography, as well as website design and development.
What we did:
- Brand Development
- Logo Design
- Iconography
- Photography Production
- Information Architecture
- UX & UI Design
- Website Design and Development

BRAND IDENTITY — We created a new logo design for Nasc, inspired by the Celtic Eternity Knot, which depicts a journey that has neither a beginning nor an end. The path overlaps and links up again to create a leaf shape that is contemporary, yet distinctly Irish. We also developed an iconography style and suite of icons to represent the various supports, services, and activities of Nasc.
BRAND DEVELOPMENT — We applied the new brand identity to a full suite of materials including print publications, signage, stationery, PowerPoints and newsletters, and social media assets.

PHOTOGRAPHY — As part of the photography production, we developed a photographic style for the brand, focussing on real people to communicate that Nasc is a human organisation. Nasc is built on the values of hope, support, determination, commitment, kindness and empathy. We wanted to express these values in the photography for this project, seeking out real people, stories and environments to create photographs that are not staged, but hopeful and real.

WEBSITE DESIGN & DEVELOPMENT — Applying the new brand identity to the website design, we specified the colour palette, typographic styles and imagery layout, ensuring consistency in content presentation across the site. The site needed to be easy to navigate and understand, so those with English as a second language could find information easily. We identified key calls to action and areas of importance to highlight: Know Your Rights, Free Legal Service, and Support Us.
Nasc work closely with migrants and refugees to provide them with vital information, and operates a hugely important free, walk-in legal service. Because of the close relationships they build with the families and individuals who avail of their service, we suggested creating a Stories page as a record of their work and success stories, and to give hope to anyone in a vulnerable situation.
INFORMATION ARCHITECTURE — In order to gain a full understanding of what various users might require from the Nasc website, we carried out a client requirement analysis and developed user personas. From our research and analysis of the previous website, we recognised the importance of making ways to help, donate and support easy to find. We advised giving more importance to the donate page, with a prominent Donate button, and to place more emphasis on the support services Nasc offers. As part of this, we developed a tailored donation form.

CONTENT MANAGEMENT SYSTEM — The website was developed using the Drupal CMS (content management system). We provided full CMS training and documentation to the Nasc team, as well as providing image usage guidelines to ensure consistency in image presentation across the site.
