Nutshed is a Limerick food producer led by sisters Eliza and Evie Ward. With an array of simple, plant-based products, they aim to prove that delicious and indulgent food doesn’t have to be loaded with artificial and unhealthy ingredients. We were commissioned with developing their website with the aim of increasing engagement, communicating their brand ethos and showcasing their product roster.

BRAND DEVELOPMENT — Before the development of the website commenced, we reviewed the overall brand in order to identify opportunities for growth and development of key brand assets for digital platforms. This included the clarification of photography styles, iconography design, typographical systems and usage considerations of primary and secondary brand colours.

PHOTOGRAPHY — From the onset of this project, we aimed to utilise photography as a key tool in communication. We developed a style guide with different types of photography in mind, from product imagery to portraits of the owners and animated gifs. We generated these images to stand out even on visually competitive platforms such as social media while adhering to the overall brand look and feel.

WEBSITE DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT — We worked with the Nutshed team on the development of the website. Our aim was to present their brand ethos in the best way possible while also allowing them to regularly update the content with the inclusion of a blog and integration of their Instagram account on the homepage. By using custom javascript we ensure that the content is displayed in the best possible light as both imagery and text adapts in size to the proportions of the display. To capitalise on the clients engaged online audience we developed a shop feature on the website.

SOCIAL MEDIA IMPACT —The NutShed brand is designed to make maximum impact on social media, especially in the highly visual Instagram space. The NutShed visual style allows them to communicate their brand ethos on social, and the colourful elements make for an eye catching social presence complimented by enticing product photography.
