The Bedford Townhouse & Café is a boutique property located in the heart of Limerick City. It comprises of a twelve bedroom guesthouse, and a contemporary city cafe serving high-quality food and speciality coffee. Working closely with the owners, we identified the unique history of the building as a key focus point. The Bedford is named after Bedford House, which was built c.1830 and was once home to Peter Tait, former Limerick Mayor and founder of the Limerick Clothing Factory, which started operations from the premises in the mid-nineteenth century.

BRAND DEVELOPMENT —The rich history and industrial connection to the building became a core focus of the Bedford brand. We designed The Bedford’s logo based on a needle and thread, inspired by this unique heritage. We also created a custom font that echoes the stitch effect of the logo for signage and branded materials. Working closely with interior designer Tullio Orlandi, care was taken to get the mix of classic and contemporary just right. We took cues from Orlandi’s interior design and generated a colour palette and brand guidelines that worked seamlessly with the new space.

BRANDED ITEMS — With the clear guidelines in place, we were easily able to create a suite of assets and branded materials that are consistent across all media, from exterior signage to toilet roll stickers and everything in between.



EDITORIAL & COPYWRITING —We worked to create a unique tone of voice for The Bedford, which we then applied to a range of copywriting projects, including the guest directory, branded items, and the website. We established a tone of voice that is clear and direct but also humorous, warm, and welcoming. For the guest directory, we designed a series of illustrations that paid tribute to the heritage of Bedford House and showcased Limerick’s offerings in a contemporary way. The combination of illustration and copywriting established a fun and welcoming personality for the brand. We also created engaging, informative, and search engine optimised copy for the entire website.




SOCIAL MEDIA CAMPAIGN MANAGEMENT —We managed a social media campaign surrounding the opening of The Bedford Café & Townhouse. We built a social media presence and ran a campaign in the weeks leading up to, and the week of the launch date. The central aim of this campaign was to establish The Bedford’s presence as a brand new boutique cafe in Limerick City centre and raise brand awareness ahead of the opening date. We created a social strategy and content schedule, managed all content creation, copywriting, native uploading, and paid advertising for the duration of the campaign. The campaign successfully built a large audience across social platforms and generated a significant amount of engagement and organic reach.
