The University of Limerick (UL) offers an extensive range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes across multiple disciplines. Piquant developed and produced a suite of videos to promote specific programmes to target audiences. Using live-action, motion graphics and voice-over the suite of videos showcased student experiences, while also conveying key information and unique selling points of the programmes.
What we did:
- Concept Development
- Script Writing
- Video Editing
- Motion Graphics Design
- Video Production
CONCEPT DEVELOPMENT — The concept was developed with key audiences in mind; students, mature students, parents, teachers and guidance counsellors. In producing a suite of programme focused videos, it was important to create a flexible concept that facilitates the communication of technical programme information bespoke to each programme, while also delivering uniformity that is helpful for audiences researching multiple courses. The concept we developed followed UL students in the college environment and combined live-action, motion graphics and voiceovers to deliver key programme information about access, application and progression.
SCRIPT WRITING — We developed a script and worked closely with the programme directors at UL to ensure the tone was informative and exciting and spoke to current and incoming students. Voice-over and interview questions for current UL students formed the basis of the scripts. The visual approach was to capture footage that related to the students programme while also bringing the UL campus to life.
MOTION GRAPHICS DESIGN — Working within the UL brand guidelines, we generated dynamic motion graphics to convey key programme focused information that included a clear call to action: #StudyAtUL, or #PostGradAtUL. Motion graphics worked in tandem with live-action shots and voiceovers to highlight specific programme features that particularly resonate with the target audience.
VIDEO PRODUCTION — Interviews with students were captured on the UL campus, allowing them to share their experiences with the audience. We showcased the students’ experience by capturing video footage of students taking part in lectures, tutorials and lab sessions, as well as enjoying the social and recreational facilities on offer at UL. Recorded in our own studio, we used voice-over artists with the right tone of voice to resonate with the target audience and represent the UL brand. We delivered multiple sizes of videos to cover digital and social platforms to reach the target audience.
