The International Architecture Exhibition, la Biennale di Venezia, is one of the most highly renowned cultural organizations in the world. The 16th Biennale Architettura in 2018 featured installations by five lecturers from the School of Architecture at UL (SAUL): Elizabeth Hatz, Grainne Hassett, Merritt Bucholz, Noreile Breen and Peter Carroll.

This edition of the Venice Biennale focused on the question of free space, the spirit of generosity and humanity at the heart of architecture’s motive. We were commissioned with creating a video to document the creation process of the 5 projects by UL lecturers, and their residence at the exhibition in Venice.
The resulting video is a comprehensive documentary of all 5 projects, from the workshop to the exhibition hall, capturing the concept of each installation with a combination of interviews, sketches, still images and on location shots of conference guests interacting with the work.
